Senior Regional Agricultural Engineer

Responsibilities:

Lead activities related to the strategic sourcing for an active ingredient for Gowan’s Global portfolio of products.  Source raw materials to meet demand requirements. Responsible for oversight of inventory development and management of the reconciliation process. Interact with key agricultural suppliers, production scheduling, formulation group, quality control, product managers, regulatory groups and toll formulators on crop protection issues. Provide advice and training on crop quality and issues relating to pesticides or fungicides manufactured for product development. Apply knowledge of agricultural engineering principles to analyze new product opportunities and develop plan to support the addition or expansion of products, including working with customers regarding product specifications. Lead engineer responsible for all planning, positioning, execution, and launch of crop protection, formulation and raw materials through the lifecycle of assigned Gowan products, which includes activities related to product registration and distribution. Work with various departments within Gowan Company related to sales, research and development of Gowan Company products to ensure the financial success of the brand. Prepare and present detailed agricultural presentations to management regarding findings. Procure AI’s/intermediates at the lowest cost and highest quality in support of customer and production needs. Monitor experimental product trials, both domestically and internationally.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Agricultural Engineering or related scientific degree plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate degree experience in the job offered or in an agricultural sales engineering position.  5 years of experience must include regulatory and technical expertise with crop protection formulation and raw materials, material requirements planning, and managing specifications and chemical safety data sheets.  Must also have experience with global regulatory requirements, supplier selection and contract negotiation.  Domestic travel required.
