Environmental Regulatory Specialist

Manage the registration process for Gowan’s insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and bio-rationals products for agricultural, turf, and ornamental sectors to comply with the U.S Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (“FIFRA”).  Comply with new standards, routine label and confidential statement of formula writing and maintenance, as well as label expansion by adding crops or use patterns and formulation changes to include alternate ingredients and producers. Conduct necessary submission follow-up to ensure timely expedient review and registration approval. Evaluate regulatory impact of corporate promotional materials, proposed manufacturing changes, and labeling changes, and provide related corporate guidance on potential environmental hazards and health risks, and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and policies.  Accurately describe required changes for ease of regulatory agency review. Research and advise on various manufacturing practices, such as advising against the use of harmful environmental chemical ingredients and review and approve safety datasheet. Facilitate favorable regulatory outcomes through establishing appropriate internal and external meetings, communicating with regulatory scientists, supply chain, formulations, quality and other functions on appropriate data generation, packaging, formulations and labeling. Work closely with the marketing, sales and field development business units to obtain FIFRA Section 24c, 18b and 2(ee) registrations or other tailored solutions. Apply knowledge of current legislative and regulatory agency publications to manage accuracy, timeliness, comprehensiveness, and registration compliance with regulatory standards. Lead the development of regulatory strategies within assigned portfolio to optimize growth and defense. Communicate regulatory information throughout the company and provide corporate interpretations of commercial implication of related strategies. Represent the company, where requested, in regulatory agency meetings, development meetings, and industry conferences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a US Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Environmental Science, or Sustainability Management plus two years of experience in the job offered or as an Agricultural Environmental/Regulatory Specialist.  2 years of experience must include experience with FIFRA Section 3, 24c, 18b and 2ee registrations for insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and bio-rationals products utilized in agricultural, turf, and ornamental sectors.
