CALGARY, AB — Gowan Company has acquired the marketing rights to the active ingredient pyridaben and is marketing it under the NeXter brand name. NeXter miticide/insecticide provides quick knockdown of tough mite pests, including European Red Mite and Two Spotted Spider mite in apples, cherries, grapes, pears, strawberries, peaches and nectarines (Ontario only). NeXter delivers up to 40 days of residual control of mites.
“Bringing NeXter to market means providing choices for growers,” says Melissa McQueen, Canadian Business Manager with Gowan at Calgary, Alberta. “NeXter will be an important tool for growers to control mites cost effectively. As a Group 21 product, NeXter is a key rotational insecticide in a resistance management plan.”
NeXter will be distributed in Canada by United Agri Products Canada Inc. and N. M. Bartlett Inc., and is available from leading farm supply retailers.
